CAF Champions League hopes fade as Gor Mahia lose to Lobi Stars

Gor Mahia hopes of proceeding to CAF Champions League group stage were halted after a 2-0 loss to Lobi Stars in away match played at Enugu-Nigeria.

Gor Mahia needed just a draw of any kind to make it through but that did not happen as KÓgalo conceded two goals in the last 20 minutes of the game courtesy of Sikuru Alimi’ brace leveling the game to a three all aggregate and that meant Lobi Stars qualified on away goal rule.

Gor Mahia now drops to Caf Confederations Cup playoffs for a chance to qualify for group stage of the same tournament. Draws will be done on the 28th Dec 2018.

  1. We will go nowhere with the back line that we have. The back line that we have now is prone to mistakes starting from the goalkeeping department. The technical bench must change the personnel occupying those positions. In goal keeping we must release one and acquire one. Match day goalkeeper must also change bcoz we have a good goalkeeper and is sidelined. We should have Fredrick as our first choice goalkeeper. His better than the other goalkeepers we have. His reflexes are good. In central defense, the technical bench must decide btwn Shakava and Joash who to relegate to the bench to give room to ogweno. Shakava should not be favored because he is captain. If the coach in his wisdom decides that Joash is better than him then the assistant captain must be allowed to captain the team. So please tb try to make some changes, but if you ignore our advice then you will regret it later. We’ve good players and the technical bench should not stick to players who are deep in form and avoid using the best players that we have. We only sign quality players and the players we have r quality players. Overhaul first eleven.
