KPL Champions, Gor Mahia FC will on Wednesday 29th may 2019 wrap up this KPL season with a clash against Mathare United in Machakos.

With the league already won, K’ogalo will be seeking to extend their lead and wind up the league in style. Mathare, on the other hand, will be looking to upset the 18 time Champions in a game that will be very interesting to watch.

The two teams’ last meeting ended in a 1-1 draw in Kasarani with striker Jacques Tuyisenge converting a penalty in the first half to give Gor Mahia the lead and later Mathare United striker Kevin Kimani doing the same from the penalty spot to equalize for Mathare in the second half. Head coach Hassan Oktay has the option of lining up his best squad or fielding other players who haven’t had regular playing time.
In the last 5 meetings, the ‘Slum’ boys have been grabbing good results from K’ogalo with two wins and three draws, a result that Oktay is taking with a pinch of salt.

A win for Gor Mahia gives them more points on the KPL log where they have convincingly stamped authority with 71 points so far,8 points clear of the closest contender Bandari FC.

The match’s kick-off time is at 2.00 PM at the Kenyatta Stadium – Machakos
