Gor lose to Nzoia Sugar to delay league title celebrations

Gor Mahia went down 1:0 to Nzoia Sugar in a midweek match played at the Mumias Complex, Kakamega county.

Erisa Ssekisambu found the target in the 22nd minute but his header was ruled offside by the second assistant referee.

K’Ogalo conceded the only goal of the match in the 33rd minute after a Nzoia player was fouled near the box. The free-kick was converted by Hansel Ochieng to put the hosts in the lead.

Gor Mahia’s next game is against traditional rivals AFC Leopards on Sunday 19th May at the Moi International Sports Center – Kasarani.

The much hyped “Mashemeji derby” is usually an explosive encounter. The mere thought that Gor would clinch the KPL title after beating their arch rivals has sparked huge debate on social media.

AFC Leopards will do everything to deny Gor the pleasure of clinching the title before their eyes as Gor will do everything to clinch the title with Leopards as witnesses.
