After kicking off the 2017 season with a comfortable 3-1 win over debutants Kariobangi Sharks in an away tie on Sunday, Gor Mahia will be hosting another new team to the top league ( Zoo Kericho) in Kisumu this coming weekend.
Up to the time the team was playing its first league match of the season, it wasn't clear where exactly the next match would be played and odds were favoring Nakuru and Naivasha because of distance though Kisumu was seen as the most appropriate venue that can accommodate large number of fans.
The move to play in Kisumu was confirmed immediately after the match in Thika where club's Assistant Secretary General Kevin Odhiambo gave a word to the official club's website.
"Our next match against Zoo Kericho will be played in Kisumu on the 18th - Saturday," said Odhiambo.
The changes in venue has been brought about by the closure of main venues in Nairobi for renovations for the IAAF World U18 Championship coming up in July.
Gor Mahia has a huge support in Kisumu and its environ and to have the first home game there, the club will be keen on killing two birds with one stone - get massive support to help the team collect maaximum points and reap big on ticket sales.
