Karim: We know what derby means to Gor Mahia fraternity

Speaking ahead of Sunday's crunch match at Nyayo stadium where Gor Mahia will be hosting AFC Leopards, K'Ogalo defender Karim Nizigiyimana said they know the value of the derby match and they will offer their best.

The defender talked to the club's official website on Saturday during the preparation session for the match.

"Derby is a 'small' match if you ask me though it will be a tough game because our opponents will be all out to prove a point... but we, Gor Mahia players, we know what a derby match means to us and to the fans. We offer our best to achieve the best,"

The Burundian did not hide his love for Gor Mahia fans and appreciated their support.

"Personally, l love Gor Mahia fans - just by how they offer their total support to the team. They truly value their players and that's why we always try not to let them down.

"We know they love watching some good football and l am calling on them to come tomorrow in large numbers to offer us the extra support and we will for sure offer them the best," he added.

Karim has been an important player for Gor Mahia in the league campaign and with his experience and qualities, he will be on of the key players in the derby match.
