Kerr disappointed after awful performance

Despite grabbing a point in a derby match played on Sunday where Gor Mahia drew one all against AFC Leopards,  K'Ogalo's head coach was not a happy man after what he described as a below par performance by his team.

The Briton shared his disappointment with the official Gor Mahia website today when he said things didn't just work as per their plan.

"I can't just understand what was the problem. The team looked disjointed and we didn't play our game at all," said Kerr.

"We always play attacking football but Sunday's case was different. May be it was a psychological issue with the team or let's just say they had it in mind that it was going to be an easy match which it wasn't,"

"But again, l must say I am so proud of our work ethics. We always want to attack but we have to be better in the final third where it matters. This way, we don't have to make recovery runs and waste lots of energy," he added.

Kerr who has been in charge of six league matches where he has won five and drawn one,  also raised a concern with the type of balls being used.

"This is not an excuse yes but the fact is that we should  have standard or one type of ball used in training as well as matches. All over, teams use same balls all through but that's not the case here. This is something the league organisers can look into if at all we need to improve."

At 44 points,  Gor Mahia are leading the log with a cusion of six points gap and the Briton will have enough time to prepare for the  next league assignment which will be on the 9th of September.
