Bolo was thankful to both club chairman Ambrose Rachier and Machakos County governor Dr. Alfred Mutua for reaching an agreement to allow the club use the venue.
The treasurer also stated that it would have been ideal playing in Kisumu but the stadium has not met minimum threshold of CAF’s requirements.
“Machakos stadium is appropriate because we will reduce on expense at this time when things are hard financially. It will cost the club a million shillings to play in Kisumu – we have flight tickets, accommodation and other expense.” stated Sally.
If the Champions League match is to be played in Bukhungu, Gor Mahia will have to take care of all expenses of their opponents from Nairobi to the match venue and Bolo says it will be expensive thus Machakos stadium remains the only venue that is appropriate and affordable.
