Onyango, Muguna leads Gor to 2:0 victory against Chemelil

Gor Mahia FC beat Chemelil sugar 2:0 in KPL encounter played at the Moi stadium KIsumu earlier today.
Kenneth Muguna opened the score sheet with a splendid free-kick. Samuel Onyango would later add the second goal to seal Chemelil’s fate.

Gor Mahia coach Hassan Oktay fielded a strong squad. Erisa Ssekisambu’s enterprising runs yielded fruit when Gor were awarded a free-kick in the 36th minute. Muguna unleashed a grass cutter that landed in the net in spectacular fashion.

Gor continued to pile pressure in the second half. In the 77th minute, Samuel Onyango capitalized on a defensive lapse, picked a loose ball and unleashed a quick shot that left the Chemelil Keeper stranded.

K’Ogalo now has 63 points,7 points clear of second-placed Sofapaka. The next fixture is against Sofapaka on and this is a crucial match that could decide who wins the KPL.

  1. Onyango stretched Gor’s lead six minutes later with a powerful low drive, Chrispin Opondo being the guilty yellow shirt as the latter failed to make the clearance early.
