Afryie’s late goal give k’Ogalo victory against Sharks

The KPL defending champions continued with their winning start to the season. The team beat Kariobangi Sharks 1-0 to make it 5 wins out of 5 matches.

The first half ended in a barren with Gor Mahia wasting some good chances with Samuel Onyango being the main culprit.

The 2nd half was actioned packed with Wellington Ochieng making a goal line clearance to deny the hosts. David also made a big save in the dying stages of the match.

It took the combination of two substitutes in Kennedy Otieno and Francis Afriyie to break the deadlock in the 2nd minute of added time. Otieno’s shot hit the goalpost and fell kindly to Afriyie who rounded the Sharks goalkeeper and tapped the ball into an empty net.

The boys held on for the remaining one minute to ensure that the 3 points are home.

K’Ogalo stretch our lead on the log to 15 points.

The team shifts our focus to the CAF Confederation Cup match against DC Motema Pembe scheduled for Sunday 27th October 2019.
