The date for next season’s curtain raiser Super Cup has been confirmed.
The match pitting 2018 SportPesa Premier League champions Gor Mahia and 2018 SportPesa Shield winners Kariobangi Sharks will now be played on the 1st of December at Kasarani stadium.
The match was earlier scheduled for the 2nd of December but after Gor Mahia’s request to have the match be rescheduled due to their CAF engagements on the 4th of December, Football Kenya Federation settled on the new date as confirmed by Gor’s CEO Lordvick Aduda.
“We will be having the return leg against Nyasa Big Bullets on the 4th of December and there was need to present our request to Football Kenya Federation to have the Super Cup match which was planned for 2nd December be rescheduled.
“We are happy that our request has been considered and the match will now be played on the Saturday 1st of December at Kasarani stadium,”Aduda told Gor Mahia official website.
This will be the first time Gor Mahia will be facing Kariobangi Sharks in a Super Cup match and fireworks are expected considering Sharks knocked out KÓgalo in the Shield tournament.
