Seven goals thriller, five for k’Ogalo and two for the visitors Tusker FC were what k’Ogalo followers witnessed in an entertaining KPL game played at Moi Stadium – Kisumu on Saturday evening.
Nicholas Kipkirui opener in the 26th minute and later an equalizer by Tusker FC’s Boniface Muchiri in the 39th minute saw the two sides finish the first half 1-1.
Captain Kenneth Muguna gave us the lead from the spot in the 52th minuted after Wellington Ochieng had been fouled in the box. It had to be a rebound after Tusker FC’s goalkeeper Robert Mboya had saved the initial kick.
Boniface Muchiri capitalized on a defensive mix up to equalize with a long range shot, a brace for the winger in the 63rd minute.
Charles Momanyi would restore the lead in the 66th minute by heading Muguna’s free kick. Muguna made 4-2 in the 83rd minute by completing a fine run by Wellington Ochieng on the right wing. Boniface Omondi put the icing on the cake with a close range finish making it 5-2 in the 90 +1 minute.
K’ogalo would now want to build on the positive start to the 2019/20 KPL season as we look to defend the title.
