The fate of the much anticipated friendly match between Gor Mahia Al-Hilal of Sudan is in limbo as FKF ‘cancels’ the trip.
In a letter to the Kenyan Champions, FKF disproved the trip citing FKFPL game schedule between Gor Mahia and Tusker FC on the same day.
“In regard and as you are aware, we wish to inform you that FKF Premier League is ongoing and your club has a match against Tusker FC scheduled for December 16, 2020”, reads part of the letter.
K’Ogalo were are awaiting Football Kenya Federation (FKF) approval before flying to Sudan for a friendly match against Sudan’s Al-Hilal on Wednesday.
Sudan’s giants were the first to confirm the plans for the friendly as the two teams prepare for the first round matches in the CAF Champions League.
“The sports department of Al-Hilal club can confirm the plans of Kenyan Gor Mahia’s arrival for a friendly match,” Al-Hilal confirmed through a post on their Facebook page.
The friendly is important for Gor Mahia K’Ogalo as the team prepares for the CAF Champions League second round against CR Belouizdad scheduled for Tuesday, December 2020 in Algeria.
