Kenyan Champions Gor Mahia are top seeds in Group D of the 2019 edition of Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) Club Championships.
The tournament, dubbed Kagame Cup after its Patron Paul Kagame, is set for Rwanda from 7th to 21st July and has attracted top teams from around the continent, a precedence that has also forced organizers to expand it within the host country to encompass the capital city Kigali, Huye town and Rubavu district.
K’Ogalo are in Group D alongside the highly adorned DC Motema Pembe of DR Congo, KMKM of Zanzibar and AS Ports of Djibouti.
All Group D matches will be staged in Rubavu district, meaning K’Ogalo’s vibrance will first be felt 146 kilometers North West of Kigali during the group stages.
Group B will play their matches in Huye while Groups A and C will be based in Kigali.
Kenya’s other representatives in the competition Bandari, are in Group B alongside Azam of Tanzania, Mukura Victory Sports of Rwanda and KCCA of Uganda.
Continental giants TP Mazembe are in Group A alongside Rayon Sports of Rwanda, KMC of Tanzania and Atlabara of South Sudan. APR of Rwanda, Green Buffaloes of Zambia, Proline of Uganda and Heegan of Somalia make up Group C.
