Nakumatt had to come from behind to grab a point against Gor Mahia in a league match that ended 2-2 at Kenyatta stadium in Machakos today.
Ephrem Guikan opened the score sheet on the 34th minute after Kevin Omondi did a neat pass to the striker to drive a low powerful shot past Nakumatt’s keeper.
Nakumatt would later pull an equalizer on the 65th minute with a far post attempt that keeper Shaban Odhoji couldn’t stop.
On the 72nd minute, Lawarance Juma raced down the right wing to bring in a fantastic cross for Boniface Omondi to make it 2-1 with a cool finish.
Just when Gor Mahia thought maximum points were theirs, Nakumatt pulled an equalizer on the 89th minute. The ball bounced off Odhoji’s chest for the opponents to tap in from a close range.
The custodian tried to stop a set piece attempt by Nakumatt side but failed and that was the Shoppers gift of the day to grab a point.
Gor Mahia are now at 56 points after playing 22 matches.
