Gor Mahia off to a good start in Super Cup

SportPesa Super Cup defending champions Gor Mahia, started their tournament campaign with a 3-0 over JKU of Zanzibar in a one sided match.

Gor were the better side enjoying big chunk of possession, stringing good passes and taking the game to their opponents.

Francis Kahata’s assist on the 29th found George Odhiambo who made no mistake to open the score sheet. Before the visitors could settle in after the first goal, Cercidy Okeyo made good use of a free-kick to find Godfrey Walusimbi who sent a low shot to double the lead on 35th minute.

The game went in to half break with Gor Mahia leading 2-0.

The tempo in second half continued with Gor side knocking on the visitors goal mouth and just when the Zanzibar team thought they could escape with just two goals, Meddie Kagere nailed the

third goal on the 83rd minute to erase any hope the visitors were harbouring.

Gor are through to the semi finals of SportPesa Super Cup.
