Record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia FC resumed training on Monday 12th April in readiness for league resumption under the tutelage of head coach Vaz Pinto and his assistant Sammy Omollo. This has been confirmed by Captain Harun Shakava.
The league has been suspended since March 29th when the government through president Uhuru Kenyatta announced new measures to curb the spread of Covid-19.
Though the exact of the resumption of the league isn’t know, football governing body FKF convinced the Government on the need to have the league resume. Players and technical bench of BetKing Premier League clubs have already received their vaccination indicating that the date for resumption in near.
The defending champions are placed seventh with 22 points after 14 games, 14 points below leaders Tusker who have played 16 games and garnered 36 points.
