Gor Mahia begin the New Year by hosting Chemelil Sugar today in Machakos as from 4pm.
A win will get the champion’s title defence back on track after a lacklustre end to a rather successful year. The champions have lost two of their opening three league games.
Gor Mahia have generally been dominant over the Sugar millers in the last few seasons – Chemelil’s last win against Gor Mahia coming way back in 2010. Since then, Gor Mahia have won 14 of their 17 meetings and drawn two.
The last meeting between the two last season was settled by an Eliud Lokuwam goal. A win for Gor Mahia will take their points tally to six and leapfrog Chemelil who are one place above them on the league table.
