Gor Mahia take on Mbao for the first time

As the third edition of the SportPesa Cup rolls down in Tanzania, defending champions Gor Mahia will be taking on Mbao FC of Tanzania in their first match today as from 2pm.

The duel will be the first one between the two teams and with each side not familiar with each other, an exciting match should be in store.

This is the same competition that earned Gor Mahia a ticket to play Everton at Goodison Park and this time round, the winner of the tournament will host the English Premier League side in their country.

In this competition, Gor Mahia have scored 14 goals without conceding in the two previous editions and the top scorer is former striker Meddie Kagere with seven goals.

Striker Dennis Oliech is expected to lead the onslaught as Fredrick Odhiambo takes a place between the stick as head coach Hassan Oktay do his squad rotation.
