Gor Mahia trio selected for AFCON games in Egypt

Three Gor Mahia players have been named as part of Kenya squad for Total Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be played in Egypt from June 19th, 2019.

Midfielder Francis Kahata, right back Philemon Otieno and full back Joash Onyango are among the players selected by Harambee Stars coach Sébastien Migné today at FKF headquarters in Kasarani.

Kahata has been excellent in the Gor Mahia midfield, providing many crucial assists and freely scoring goals.

The K’ogalo right back, Philemon Otieno and Joash Onyango have been the core of the Gor Mahia defense in both local and continental assignments.

Kenya is in Group C with Senegal, Tanzania, and Algeria. Their first match will be on June 23rd against Algeria before facing their East Africa counterpart Tanzania on 27th. Kenya will then wind up the group stage matches against Senegal on 1st July 2019.

The team will be camping from May 31 2019 for preparation after being out of for 15 years.
