Assistant captain Joash Onyango won two awards at the LG SJAK awards held at the National Museums of Kenya on the evening of Monday 19th August 2019.
The Kenyan international went home with the Defender of the year award ahead of Sony FC’s Kelvin Wesonga and Bandari FC’s Brian Otieno.
He also won the most coveted one, the Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards where he beat his ex colleague Francis Kahata.
Kahata, now at Simba SC in Tanzania went home with the midfielder of the year award. He dethroned former Gor Mahia Youth FC midfielder Cliff Nyakeya who turned out for Mathare United in the 2018/19 season and Bandari FC’s Hassan Abdala.
Former Coach Hassan Oktay fend off competition from Bandari FC’s Bernard Mwalala nad Sofapaka FC’s John Baraza to win the Coach of the year award.
