Gor Mahia moved top of the Kenyan Premier League after coming from behind to beat Kariobangi Sharks 2-1 in a match played at Moi Stadium – Kisumu in Saturday 30th April 2019.
Sharks opened the scoreline in the 21st minute after a mishap in k’Ogalo defense that left Erick Kapaito with just a net to slot in the first goal for the visitors.
But Gor piled more pressure and in the 27th minute, Lawrence Juma leveled before Kahata’s classic finish in the dying minutes of first the half. He connected well with Philemon Otieno’s cross, sending the stadium into rapture with a shot that was beyond the reach of Sharks custodian John Oyemba.
The defending champions are now on 38 points, two ahead of Sofapaka with 2 games at hand.
