Kenyan Champions Gor Mahia FC’s preparation for tomorrow’s CAF Champions League match against USM Alger received a major financial boost from Naivasha based Manufacturer Keroche Breweries ahead of Sunday evening’s big kick-off.
The giant beer maker has a splashed 1 million shillings to boost the team’s morale as they bid to overturn the 4-1 first leg loss suffered in Algeria a fortnight ago.
Both parties also intimated that the deal is also precursor to a permanent shirt sponsorship after the withdrawal of Sportpesa.

About the Sportpesa Sponsorship: There is still no solution. So as at now sportpesa sponsorship is still off.
About the financial situation at the club: the club owes 2 months and 3 months salaries to the players and technical bench respectively. There is no monthly grants from KPL.
About new potential sponsors: we are appealing for more sponsors. There is room for at least 5 sponsors.
About the Keroche Partnership: Keroche has come to partner with Gor Mahia FC ahead of tomorrow’s match. It will hopefully result into a long term partnership.
Keroche was represented by Fred Nyongesa, Head of Marketing who said that they want to stand with Gor Mahia during this time because the team is representing the whole of Kenya. The team carries the hopes of Kenyan Football.
He further appreciated the similarities between Keroche and Gor Mahia FC in that both entities have faced tough times in the past but the heart, desire and determination they have both stood the test of time.
He said that there will be more discussion between Keroche and the club concerning having a long term partnership.
