Gor Mahia Football Club will grace the next edition of Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) Club Championships slated for Kigali, Rwanda from July 7th to 21st.
K’Ogalo earned the right to represent Kenya in the regional club jamboree dubbed Kagame Cup, after winning Kenya’s top-flight division – Sportpesa Premier League.
The squad will assemble for start of pre-season training on 21st June and leave for the Rwandan capital on 4th July. The tournament will be Gor Mahia’s first engagement in the new season with the CAF Club Championships coming second from 8th August.
Ten teams have already confirmed participation in the Kagame Cup including Kenya’s representatives to the CAF Confederation Cup and multiple African champions TP Mazembe of DR Congo.
Rwandan giants Rayon Sports and APR, Ugandan champions KCCA, Azam of Tanzania and Green Buffaloes of Zambia among others have also confirmed participation.
