Defending champions Gor Mahia are at the lakeside this evening to play in one of the much talked about battles, against KPL new entry Kisumu All-Stars.
A highly anticipated match will be at Moi Stadium – Kisumu as both sides meet for the first time in recent years. But the more interesting part will not just be at the battlefield or rather the flocks of followers who are believed to be loyal to both teams.
In the absence of foreign strikers, Steve Polack will depend on local-based forwards with Dickson Ambundo as the only foreign forward available for selection. Nicholas Kipkirui, Kennedy Otieno “Agogo” and Dennis Oalo will be available for the lakeside derby.
The presence of two captains, Kenneth Muguna and Joash Onyango has also boosted the team after CECAFA tournament in Uganda. Lawrence Juma, Tobias Otieno, and Kenneth will manage the midfield as Joash man the defense with Charles Momanyi, Wellington and Geoffrey Ochieng’ will be the men to protect custodian Boniface Oluoch or Davis Mapigano.
Defending Champions are currently at fourth position with four games at hand and only three points drift t the top of the KPL table.
