As expected, Gor Mahia Vs KCB match was not only a thriller but a six goal thriller. In a frantic first half that saw a five goal harvest, KCB were first off the blocks after netting in the opener in the 26th minute before adding a second goal three minutes later.
Before Gor Mahia could get a grasp of what was happening a third goal was netted, it was 3:0 to KCB just about halfway in the first half, unbelievable to say the least.
Gor Mahia was down but not out, what was to follow was one of the most spirited comebacks in recent history. Samuel Onyango pulled one back for Gor Mahia and raised the adrenaline levels of Gor Mahia fans who were watching the proceedings in disbelief.
At the stroke of half time Gor netted another goal from an unlikely source Captain Harun Shakava.It was 3:2 at halftime with KCB now having a narrow lead.
The second half was epic, to say the least. Gor Mahia’s substitutions seemed to work with the involvement of Dennis Oliech and Jacques Tuyisenge. Gor mounted wave after wave of attack with no success.
With a never say die spirit Gor Mahia scored the equalizer with the very last kick of the game in the 94th minute courtesy of marksman Mustapha. This last gasp goal was the mark of a spirited comeback by the KPL champions securing a point as the game ended 3:3.
Gor still sits at the top of the KPL log with a 7 point lead.
