Sonko’s kindness witnessed in Gor trip to Lusaka

Former Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko’s usual good heart was witnessed when he came to the rescue of the team’s journey to Lusaka for CAF Confederation Cup play-off against NAPSA Stars on Saturday 21st February 2021.

His $5000 donation was received by club’s chairman Ambrose Rachier.

Even though in political turmoil and sick in Nairobi hospital with tight security as he faces legal challenges, the former governor could not ignore the issues of Gor Mahia, giving out as he always does.

In his statement in the hospital bed where he is undergoing treatment, Sonko expressed his passing for local giants Gor Mahia and. AFC Leopards.

“I just gave it to Gir Mahia because i love them and AFC”, the governor said on a phone conversation.

Sonko has been on the frontline in assisting Kenya’s all-time champions. He has given fans free rides to continental marches, including trips to Rwanda and Tanzania trips where K’Ogalo played CAF CC against Ryon and Yanga respectively.

Gor Mahia were eliminated from the continental tournament after a controversial penalty was awarded to NAPSA Stars in the last minute of added time at Lusaka Heroes Stadium in Zambia.
