Awilo Gades: Gor Mahia are on top of the log after 8 matches having amassed 18 points, scoring 10 goals and conceding 2 over the same period.
There are positives to pick from this with the team joining Kakamega Homeboys in the shortlist of unbeaten sides in the league.
So far we have been mean at the back being forced to pick the ball twice from the back of our net but going forward we have not done enough.
We continue shooting ourselves on the foot with 1001 sideways passes with the better part of it is back passed. We are turning into a “crossing and inshallah” fc such that if the crosses don’t work then we don’t have another avenue of getting goals.
If Sunday 12th December 2013 match was anything to go by, then we were lucky to pick a point against the Dockers as they were the better side.
If we are going to use this system of 3-5-2, then our wingbacks have to pull up their socks and do more going forward.
John Macharia must now carry the burden of proof and give those killer passes to our forwards Let’s hope for the best in the coming matches God bless Gor Mahia.
David Otieno: What I saw yesterday was nothing worth talking about, no single shot on target, no whomph going forward, a lot of diagonal passes and negative passing…Our midfield is very wanting to say the least…
Larky Luke Oj: the system Gor Mahia is playing presently is complicated that can only be understood by Harrison with no Creativity.
Oguma Jac: The team is good; youthful with a feature. The coach is also above average. Ikiwa hatutakuwa na vipindi vile vya Kila mara team ita surprise watu.
Nicholas Odera: The problem is that our wingbacks neither provide assists nor carry any credible goal threat. They are traditional defenders being converted into modern wingbacks. I like the 3-5-2 system as we look very solid in the KPL but against better opposition like Otoho we are suspect. All in all, it is a work in progress and I hope that we will not sell all our key players at the end of the season. The office has to show some ambition and not be helpless like the fans.
